34 A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another.35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”
I have been told by legalists and sabbatarians that Jesus did not give any new commandments, just amplified the old ones. Well there you are folks. Jesus said it Himself. A NEW commandment. Goes with the new covenant He instituted.
He was the New High Priest of the New Covenant, with New laws….of love….which the Holy Spirit has put in our hearts.
Every time we partake of the Lord’s Supper we celebrate this. Every act of love we do, we are doing His Work, we are keeping His commandment. His NEW commandment.
