The Dead in Christ

Last night, as is my wont, I had to get up during the night to answer a call of nature.  And of course, I couldn’t get back to sleep. I went on facebook for a while till I got sleepy again, and then after I got sleepy I tried to go to sleep.  Again, as is my wont, I started to think about things to get back to sleep.  This usually works a treat, and I’m asleep In a few minutes.  But this time I thought about verse 16 above where it says the dead will rise first.  And I started really thinking about this.  Well sleep went right out the window!

The dead will rise first.  The recently dead.  Those who have been dead for hundreds of years.  Those who have been dead for so long there are no remains left.  Those who were martyred and have “bits missing”.  Those who have been cremated.  They will all be raised.  They will come from the “grave” wherever it is.  Paul says in 1 Cor 15: 42So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

Isn’t this exciting?  Because not only will THEY be raised, we will ALL be changed!  Paul says so, later in the same chapter.

But getting back to the dead.  God created humanity, in Genesis.  He created Adam and Eve.  At the resurrection, Christ took His life back.  I really can’t get my head around that.  And then at the second coming of Christ, there will be a wholesale recreation!  Forgot “dem dry bones”!  Some of these people won’t even HAVE bones!  But they will all be recreated.  They will all be alive, they will all be changed!  Dare I say they will all be joyful??

And we will be changed and we will join them!  We will all have our immortal bodies, and we will all worship the Lord together!

No wonder I couldn’t sleep!

As a Christian, I have a burden for people who are trapped in legalistic denominations, sects and cults.  I long to see them freed from their salvation by works teachings, and see them listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, and find freedom in the Marvellous Light!

Over a time, I have been writing “articles” that I hope will point these people to Christ, so I’ve gathered them together here.

I hope they help someone.
